2011 in Review

Stolen from Lauren...

1. what did you do in 2011 that you had never done before? a triathlon and a half marathon!
2. did you keep your goals/resolutions in 2011 and will you make some for 2012? I don't remember making any resolutions.  I know I wanted to get into better shape and I sure did that!
3. did anyone close to you give birth? not super close, but it was fun seeing baby Savannah.
4. did anyone close to you die? my student.  It still hurts to think and talk about.  I hope to journal about it soon though.  My wound is healing, but the scar will always be there.
5. what states/countries did you visit? CT, NH, ME, MA, RI, NV (Vegas baby!), and CA (finally saw the Pacific Ocean!)
6. what would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011? a baby (hehe), motivation to organize/decorate the house.
7. what is your biggest achievement of the year? learning how to swim and ride a road bike and completing both the tri and the half marathon.  I guess really the biggest achievement was setting a goal, working out a plan and achieving that goal.  Training is the most difficult part of a race!
8. what is your biggest failure? not staying in better touch with friends and family.  I hate talking on the phone!
9. did you suffer illness or injury? luckily, no!
10. what was the best thing you bought? my new 2011 Subaru Forester. I love it and feel so much safer in it!
11. where did most of your money go? 2 mortgages (barf!), refinishing the basement, loans and other bills.  being a grown-up stinks!
12. best song of 2011? Moves like Jagger (the best running song ever!)
13. best tv show of 2011? The X-Factor, other go-to shows include: The Biggest Loser, Switched at Birth, and a new favorite is Impractical Jokers.
14. best book read in 2011? The Help was very inspiring
15. best film watched in 2011? breaking dawn pt. 1.
16. what do you wish you had done more of in 2011? cleaning, reflecting, sun bathing, enjoying summer
17. what do you wish you had done less of in 2011? working, complaining
18. what are you most looking forward to next year? becoming a mommy, of course!
19. what change would you like to make to your life next year? get organized and stay organized!
20. quote a 2011 song lyric that sums up your year:

The glow that the sun givesRight around sunsetHelps me realizeThis is just a journeyDrop your worriesYou are gonna turn out fine.Oh, you'll turn out fine.Fine, oh, you'll turn out fine.

But you gotta keep your head up, oh,And you can let your hair down, eh.you gotta keep your head up, oh,And you can let your hair down, eh
.........
Only rainbows after rainThe sun will always come again. And its a circle, circling,Around again, it comes around again
(Keep Your Head Up by Andy Grammer)
